Mine Planner (Opencast Mining Operation)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mine Design and Scheduling
• Prepare daily and weekly mineral extraction plans and production schedules in line with the monthly plan
• Mine Planning
• Obtain, interpret and validate the mining production rates, geotechnical information and other factors in line with the overall mine strategic plan and statutory requirements.
• Update mining layouts daily and weekly to schedule the required resources to achieve the production rates.
• Compile daily and weekly plans and schedules in advance and reconcile with daily and weekly plans and schedules
• Identify and manage risks that affect planning
• Report variances in weekly schedule, if required, within span of control

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant
• At least 5 years experience in a mine planning environment long and short term
• Open pit mining experience
• Planning software experience, preferably Datamine
