Qualifications:
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in a plant or production management role.
• Proven experience in managing teams within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, maintenance planning, and
operational best practices.
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
• Valid drivers license and own reliable transport
TECHNICAL KEY
PERFORMANCE AREAS
Plant Operations Management (Primary Focus)
• Oversee and manage daily plant operations to ensure production targets are
achieved.
• Monitor plant performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure optimal utilisation of plant equipment, materials, and workforce.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce
downtime.
• Apply sound technical knowledge of fixed plant equipment, including conveyor
belts, gearboxes, pumps, and related processing equipment, to optimise plant
performance and reliability.
• Oversee and coordinate the effective utilisation of mobile plant equipment,
including front-end loaders, dozers, and tipper trucks.
Maintenance & Asset Management
• Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Ensure plant equipment is maintained in line with operational standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimise disruptions to production.
• Monitor the condition and performance of fixed and mobile plant assets and
ensure appropriate maintenance interventions are implemented to maximise
equipment availability and lifespan.
Health & Safety Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective measures.
Client Liaison & Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and other key stakeholders.
Liaise with clients on operational performance, production requirements, service
delivery, and site-related matters.
• Address client concerns promptly and ensure agreed service standards are
consistently met.
People Management
• Lead, manage, and develop plant staff and supervisors.
• Utilise ERP systems to support operational planning, maintenance management,
inventory control, reporting, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure proper workforce planning, training, and performance management.
• Foster a productive and positive working environment.
Reporting & Administration
• Prepare and submit operational reports to senior management.
• Monitor budgets, costs, and resource utilisation.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance documentation.
