DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan, coordinate and execute maintenance on infrastructure like water and power supply, sewage handling systems, buildings and permanent roads with all infrastructure associated equipment, also including owned trackless mobile machinery (TMM) like light and heavy motor vehicles, ancillary equipment like lighting plants and trailers.
• Coordinate and administer onboarding of all Trackless Mobile Machinery, Equipment and Modular buildings as per relevant onboarding procedures.
• Prepare and manage services engineering section budget and adhere to financial policies and procedures.
• Supervise, plan, organise and allocate work to individuals and teams, contractor management, overtime, leave control, and training and development of personnel and be able to follow the POLC Principle.
• Plan and supervise statutory and preventative maintenance and allocate resources for effective and efficient execution of work.
• Maintain the Engineering Safety Management System and ensure compliance with MH&SA, mine COP’s and SOP’s.
• Ensure that all employees working in the engineering services section are trained and declared competent as per job profiles.
• Spares management, identification of stock items and inspection of critical spares, spares specification and categorisation.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as delegated by the direct supervisor or management.
Qualifications
• Grade 12/N3 qualification
• Relevant recognized Trade Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Electrician or Fitter.
• Minimum 10 years relevant experience on maintenance of general mine infrastructure and associated equipment, trackless mobile machinery, dewatering pumps, and lighting plants.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Electrician or Fitter in a mining environment of which 3 years must be on supervisory level.
• Knowledge of RCFA, CMMS, RCM, ICAM.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office Advanced Package)
• Knowledge of all the applicable safety standards
• Familiar with mining processes and well experienced in general infrastructure and associated equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrate the ability to assess employee performance and identify training requirements and implement development programs.
• System orientated & knowledge of systems
• Legal liability, HIRA, First Aid, working at heights, firefighting and basic rigging.
• Technical background
• Valid driver’s license code 08
