Our Mining client based in Kempton Park is currently seeking the professional services of a Supply Chain Manager to join their team

Duties and responsibilities:
▪ Responsible for all procurement activities within the supply chain function.
▪ Responsible for the development and implementation of procurement strategies, both for the short and long term across a number of equipment and product categories.
▪ Implement consolidated procurement strategies and price negotiations based on Company / group spend.
▪ Establishment of integrated procurement processes with a major emphasis on continuous improvement.
▪ Establishing of key performance metrics relating to procurement and the measurement thereof.
▪ Negotiation and managing Service Level Agreements with major suppliers, with the support of other company resources as may be required ▪ Implementing policies and performance metrics to ensure that  savings within the group is being achieved on a sustainable basis.
▪ Proficient understanding of the financial impact of the procurement function on the overall business.
▪ Effective management of the inventory within the group from a cost an optimised stockholding perspective.
▪ Provide monthly executive report on the procurement key performance indicators within the Group.

Qualification requirements
▪ Relevant tertiary qualification (Degree): Technical/Supply Chain Management or similar qualifications.
▪ Minimum of 10 years procurement experience in the manufacturing/mining industry at a managerial level.

Experience and skill requirements:
▪ Sound business and commercial acumen.
▪ Sound knowledge of technical procurement practices, preferably in the mining & construction space.
▪ Sound knowledge of international procurement principles and practices will be highly advantageous.
▪ Ability to apply a systems think approach, develop and implement strategies.
▪ Proven and demonstrable track record (Results Driven)
▪ High Level of professionalism and integrity.
▪ Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
▪ Computer Literacy – MS OFFICE (Intermediate /advanced level).

















Description

The purpose of this role is to effectively manage the Company’s supply chain and procurement function on a
Company-wide basis, which may expand over several countries where the Company & its Subsidiaries operate.
The aim will be to optimize procurement spend within the company to maximise value for the company.
Development and implementation of all local and international procurement policies and procedures to support
the company’s overall supply chain.

The compilation and management of Service Level Agreement with the
major suppliers constituting the supply chain will be and essential function of this role.

This role will be generally
responsible for ensuring that all goods and services are procured at the specified quantity, quality, on time and
at the lowest cost to the company.
Extensive experience gained in this environment is non-negotiable.

The position is based at the companies Head
Office in Kempton Park. The purpose of this role is to effectively manage the Company’s supply chain and
procurement functions on a national & international level, with potential expansion to multiple countries where
the Company and its subsidiaries operate. The aim is to optimize procurement spending to deliver maximum
value for the Company.
