Senior Plant l Maintenance Manager (Yellow Machines – Opencast)

Qualification

• Relevant tertiary qualification degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Trade Certificate (Beneficial)
• General mechanical understanding of all yellow plant & equipment.
• 5-8 years’ experience in mobile plant, plant engineering and in a maintenance managerial position. Experience in the surface mining environment preferable.
• Management qualification, (or equivalent) with a strong focus on finance, specifically budgeting and cost control will be advantageous.
• Computer literate. An advanced knowledge of EXCEL is essential as well as Microsoft Office.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Medically fit as per MHSA/OHSA.
• No Criminal Record

Duties & Responsibilities

• Planning, Leading, Organizing and Controlling all activities site equipment.
• Managing the performance of the plant supervisors in terms of the laid down criteria.
• Development and implementation of world class performance and safety standards to optimise life cycle costs of equipment.
• Effective achievement of plant performance goals.
• Effective management of financial budgets
• Ensure safety standards are adhered to in accordance with the company’s SHEQ policy
• Monitoring of equipment availability daily.
• Managing plant-related life-cycle costs in accordance with budgeted parameters.
• Ensuring that the Company’s preventative maintenance systems are adhered to.
• Ensuring that subordinates have the necessary resources (e.g. spares and manpower) to ensure the availability of equipment.
• Recommend and implement training and staffing requirements where necessary.
• Ensuring that month end reports relating to areas of responsibilities from sites meet deadlines
• Preparation of monthly Site Plant performance reports.
