Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
• Compile monthly management accounts for multiple entities.
• Review and sign off Creditors reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate and compliant VAT submissions for multiple entities both SA and foreign. Monitor and review Vat compliance of entities and correct process to avoid future errors.
• Assist in preparation of Royalty and Income Tax returns.
• Provide support to team and ad hoc financial tasks and reporting requirements such as being a signatory on the banking platforms.
• Work across multi-currency environments and liaise with international teams.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Qualification requirements:
• BCom Accounting or Management Accounting OR NDip: Accounting (tertiary qualification not negotiable)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multi-national corporate finance environment with an employment history that indicates a commitment to a career in finance. (Not Negotiable)
• Previous mining, quarrying, or contracting experience will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of South African VAT legislation and previous role experience.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Advanced Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Our client in the mining industry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team within a multinational corporate environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial operations, the role will include processing journal entries, preparing GL reconciliations, reviewing Creditor reconciliations, preparing Management accounts, preparing VAT and providing support to the finance team.
