Diesel Mechanic l Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (Surface)

Qualifications:
Matric certificate or equivalent
Trade Certificate (Red Seal) – Earth Moving / Diesel Mechanic

Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience working on earth‑moving and yellow machinery
Valid Code 8 driver’s license

Additional Requirements:
Sound knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
Ability to work independently and under pressure

TECHNICAL KEY l PERFORMANCE AREAS
Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on earth moving and yellow machinery (including TLBs, FELs and similar equipment).
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and carry out effective repairs.
Implement and administer a comprehensive preventative maintenance programme for all allocated equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection and repair records.
Manage inventory of workshop spares, tools and consumables.
Conduct regular inspections on mobile and stationary equipment.
Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
Ensure compliance with HSE standards, legal requirements, and Company policies at all times.
Assist with workshop administration related to maintenance and repairs.
Control maintenance costs by evaluating parts options and making use of warranties where applicable.
